Nest Designs
These are by far our favorite pajamas! Soft and stretchy, this fabric drapes over your body in a cozy and elegant fashion. Our family can’t get enough of their Nest Design Pajamas, they are one of the best bamboo clothing brands we tested. They also offer men’s bamboo pajamas.
We have tested out two different lines that Nest offers: The Eric Carl Line and the Nest Basics Line.
The Eric Carl Line is thinner than the Nest Basics line, yet stills stand up to weekly machine washing and drying. The designs are colorful and whimsical without being over childish. The fabric does not pill or shrink, and is perfect for any season. My children would spend all weekend in these pajamas if we didn’t make them change their clothes! These pajamas are perfect as a giftable item. The packaging is very thoughtful and well designed (maybe they will do away with plastic packaging soon…;)
The Basics Line for both men and women is thicker, yet still breathable and very comfy. The elastic band at the waist offers stretch as well as a drawstring cord. The bottoms for both men and women have pockets that ACTUALLY hold a phone! The material is wrinkle-resistant and can easily be washed and dried without harm or wear to the garments.
These pajamas are well worth the splurge!

FAQ
What are the benefits of bamboo fabric?
Bamboo fabric is soft, often stretchy (because it’s mixed with elastane or spandex), and breathable. It is a temperature-controlled fabric and it is a great option for loungewear and comfort wear.
Is bamboo a good fabric?
Bamboo is a great fabric for travel, loungewear, and sleepwear. It is breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and comfortable to wear for men, women, and children. It is grown from bamboo trees, which alone are a very sustainable crop, requiring no additional irrigation, pesticides, or herbicides.
Is bamboo fabric better than cotton?
In some ways, bamboo fabric is better than cotton. Bamboo is easier to grow as a crop than cotton. Mainstream cotton requires a great deal of irrigation and chemicals to maintain the crop, practices that are not required with bamboo crops.
Bamboo mixed with 5% stretch-fabric, is also more free-flowing and form-fitting than cotton garments. Bamboo fabric often lasts longer than cotton and is made to withstand the modern washing/drying cycles better than cotton.
Why is bamboo fabric more expensive?
Bamboo tends to be more expensive than cotton because of the multi-step process that is required when making viscose bamboo. See the article “What is Modal” to learn more about the manufacturing process of rayon bamboo.
Is bamboo a type of rayon?
Yes, the bamboo fabric falls under the umbrella term “Rayon”. All rayon fabrics are made out of the pulp of some type of wood. In the case of bamboo, the wood pulp comes from bamboo plants. Other types of rayon are made from Eucalyptus, Beech, Pine, Spruce, and Hemlock trees.
How do you care for bamboo fabric?
Bamboo fabric can be easily cared for by washing in a normal wash cycle and drying in the dryer. Bamboo garments do not often wrinkle but if they do, they can withstand a high-temperature iron if need be. Bamboo fabric will often take longer to dry than other fabrics since it is made from wood pulp. Air dry is the most eco-friendly option.
Do bamboo clothes shrink?
Quality bamboo clothing is pre-shrunk. Bamboo does shrink, so it is best to contact the company first to make sure that they sell pre-shrunk garments.
What is the best season for bamboo clothing?
Bamboo clothing is a great option for all seasons. It is free-flowing and breathable, making even bamboo pants a comfortable choice in both the summer and winter months.
Is Bamboo fabric eco-friendly?
Bamboo fabric is a semi-synthetic fabric due to its rigorous manufacturing practice. Good companies, such as Lenzing®, produce bamboo in a closed loop facility, reusing the chemicals needed for the process and disposing of waste in an eco-friendly manner. Bamboo fabric can also be produced in less responsible ways, making it less environmentally friendly than other organic crops such as cotton, hemp, and linen.

I had no idea that bamboo was used to weave a type of rayon, but now that I know this fabric is versatile for both cooler and warmer weather, I’ll have to check it out. Especially because we have all four seasons here in Kansas City.
I love the look of the Nest ones! The fact that it’s a temperature controlled fabric and lasts longer than cotton through multiple washes is a huge selling point too!
I’m always looking for new lounge wear now I work from home some days, so these are great to know about! Wanted clothes that will be lasting and sustainable. Thanks for sharing 🙂
